Though some might remember him from his "Roya Re fame", but let us be clear: Shiraz Uppal is NOT a person that can be summarized in 3 words. Please don’t say “Best Singer Ever” because even if it is true, it took us 10 minutes to come up with this line for him.
A singer, songwriter and a music producer, Shiraz Uppal is the ultimate factory of quality music. Born in Lahore on January 29 (Year? If we don't know, then remove the rest of the date as well), he has marked his musical territory in both the the pop and filmi music industries across the subcontinent. His first song, released in 2001, was called “Tu Hai Meri”, and it was followed by “Tera Tay Mera” in 2003 which bought him a definite place in the romantic playlists. Over the years, he managed to make his mark as a composer and vocalist for both Bollywood and Lollywood films, and earned a string of hits along the way. So far Shiraz Uppal has gifted us with 4 albums, 3 OSTs for Pakistani dramas and songs in 6 Hindi movies. He also composed the music score for Pakistan's first computer-animated feature-length film called Teen Bahadur. A self-confessed geek (he says computer buff but pffft we all know better) his most prized possessions are his high-tech recording gear. Counting the legendary Bollywood composer A.R. Rehman among his primary inspiration, Shiraz Uppal has won many laurels at home and across the border.
